Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah was on target once again as the Reds defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday, September 28. The Egyptian winger continued his quest to cement his place among the Premier League's elite, matching Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero's record for goal involvements with a single club.

Salah, who has made a blazing start under new manager Arne Slot, scored from the penalty spot, taking his tally for the season to five goals across competitions.

According to OptaJoe (via Rousing The Kop), Salah's latest goal brings his Premier League goal involvements for Liverpool to 231, equaling Aguero’s record for Manchester City. Salah has now amassed an impressive 216 goals and 93 assists from 357 appearances for the Merseyside club.

With this milestone, Salah joins an exclusive list of Premier League legends. Only Wayne Rooney (276), Ryan Giggs (271), Harry Kane (259), Thierry Henry (249), and Frank Lampard (237) are ahead of the Egyptian in terms of goal involvements for a single club.

"I don't think we started well" - Arne Slot dissects Liverpool's performance against Wolves

Liverpool manager Arne Slot offered a critical assessment of his team’s 2-1 victory over Wolves, admitting that the Reds struggled in the early stages of the match. Despite taking all three points, Slot emphasized the need for improvement as his side climbed to the top of the Premier League table.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Slot acknowledged Wolves’ strong start.

"I don't think we started well, but you have to give credit to Wolves," he said.
"They overloaded our right side a lot with many players. That's why it was difficult at the start."

Ibrahima Konate’s header gave the visitors the lead, but Wolves responded with a Rayan Ait-Nouri equalizer. Mohamed Salah’s penalty restored the advantage, allowing the Merseyside giants to secure their fifth win in six league games under Slot.

While analyzing his team's performance, Slot highlighted the shift in energy during the second half.

"The energy and intensity were much higher than the first 15 minutes," he said.
"In general, we were much more patient."

With the win, the Reds took advantage of Manchester City's slip earlier in the day, surging to the top of the Premier League. Wolves, meanwhile, remain bottom of the table with just one point despite their spirited efforts.
