Kylian Mbappe scored twice as PSG eliminated Barcelona from the UEFA Champions League.

Barcelona stars Gavi and Fermin Lopez were involved in a scuffle with Kylian Mbappe in the tunnel as they felt slighted by his celebration against them. The Frenchman scored twice to help PSG overcome the Spanish giants in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League this season.

PSG fell to a 3-2 defeat at home to La Blaugrana in the first leg of the tie, with Mbappe struggling to have an impact on the game. The second leg was much different, as a Barcelona implosion helped the French champions stroll to a 4-1 win away from home.

Kylian Mbappe wheeled away in celebration after scoring, jumping over the advertising boards both times he scored to celebrate with the away fans. The Frenchman angered the Barcelona players with his enthusiastic celebrations, and they reacted after the match.

On Barcelona news show La Porteria, it was reported that La Masia graduates Gavi and Fermin Lopez were unimpressed over the "disrespectful" celebrations, and made their feelings known afterwards. They attacked the 25-year-old inside the tunnel as both teams made their way to the changing rooms after the game, leading to a scuffle.

Lopez had featured as a substitute in the game, while Gavi played no part as he remains ruled out with an ACL injury. The teenage Spaniard has been one of the leaders of the squad despite his youth, and he was unhappy with Mbappe for his lack of respect.

La Blaugrana were reduced to 10 men in the first half when Ronaldo Araujo was sent off, before manager Xavi was also given his marching orders. Mbappe scored twice in the second period, first from the penalty spot, to seal his side's place in the semi-finals, where they lost to Borussia Dortmund.

PSG keen to replace Kylian Mbappe with Barcelona target

PSG are looking to replace Real Madrid-bound forward Kylian Mbappe with Napoli forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is on the radar of Barcelona. The French champions have made an offer for the Georgia international, as his agent Mamuka Jugeli confirmed via Tuttomercatoweb.

Kvaratskhelia was named as the Serie A MVP for 2022-23, his debut season in Italy, as he helped Napoli win the league title. This season, however, the forward struggled like the rest of his Napoli teammates, and they finished in 10th place.

PSG have made an offer of €100 million for the 23-year-old, who has played 88 times for the Partenopei in his two seasons there. He has contributed 25 goals and 26 assists in this time and is one of their most important players.
