Spain striker Dani Olmo has thrown down the gauntlet to his England counterpart Harry Kane ahead of the UEFA Euro 2024 final in Berlin on Sunday (July 14). The Three Lions are into back-to-back European Championship finals for the first time.

Both teams came from behind to win their respective last-four clash. La Roja clawed back from a Randal Kolo Muani opener for France with strikes from Lamine Yamal and Olmo to reach their first Euro final in 12 years.

Meanwhile, the Three Lions also recovered from an early deficit, overhauling Xavi Simons' strike for the Netherlands with goals from Kane and substitute Ollie Watkins.

It's pertinent to note that Bayern Munich striker Kane hasn't won a trophy for club and country. Olmo wants to prolong that, with the RB Leipzig striker scoring thrice in the DFL Super-cup final to beat Bayern last season. He said (as per Centre Goals):

"I kept Harry Kane's trophy curse going in Germany, and I'm not done yet."

Olmo's words won't be music to England fans who are yearning to end a 58-year major-tournament drought. Gareth Southgate's side made the Euro 2020 final three years ago but lost to Italy on penalties.

Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente has waxed lyrical of striker Dani Olmo after the semi-final win over France, which put La Roja into the Euro 2024 final, where they face England this weekend.

Olmo is having an impressive campaign in Germany, netting thrice and assisting twice in five games. He has scored in all three knockout games and also had an assist in the 2-1 extra-time win over hosts Germany in the quarter-final.

Following the win over France, De la Fuente said about Olmo (as per UEFA.com):

"I know what he's capable of. He only needed time to overcome an injury, integrate and recover the pace and rhythm that he needed. I am grateful to Dani for what he brings to us on the pitch.
"I'm grateful for being able to lead 26 geniuses on the pitch. We're fortunate to have a very young Spanish team with a lot of presence and future, and Dani is one of our standard-bearers these days."

Spain are looking to win a record fourth European Championship, with their three previous titles coming in 1964, 2008 and 2012. Can they do so against Harry Kane's England in the Euro 2024 final?
