Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has congratulated his teammate Luka Modric for becoming the most titled player for Los Blancos. The Croatian veteran registered the accomplishment on Wednesday (August 14) after Madrid beat Atalanta 2-0 in Warsaw to win the UEFA Super Cup.

After a goalless first half in the Polish capital, Vinicius Junior set up Fede Valverde for a comfortable tap-in to open the scoring just before the hour mark. Nine minutes later, Bellingham set up club debutant Kylian Mbappe to put the result beyond doubt.

Modric - who came late on - ensured that Los Blancos sealed the win without much fuss. In the process, he became the first player to win 27 titles with the club. Jude Bellingham posted a picture of himself with Modric holding the trophy and captioned it on Instagram story (as per Madrid Xtra on X):

"27 What a achievement, legend! Luka Modric"

Modric - who recently extended his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu - has won major trophies galore with the club. It includes a record six UEFA Champions League and four La Liga titles, among other domestic and continental honours.

Meanwhile, Jude Bellingham waxed lyrical of his new teammate:

"So sharp. So much technical quality. A great team-mate as well. He works for the team, like the rest of the lads. Credit to him, and he deserves it tonight."

Jude Bellingham, Luka Modric and Co. next take on Mallorca away in their La Liga opener on Sunday (August 18).
