Journalist Neil Custis of The Sun has provided an update on the injured Manchester United duo of striker Rasmus Hojlund and defender Leny Yoro. While Hojlund arrived at Old Trafford last summer, Yoro did so earlier this month from Lille.

In their first pre-season game with Arsenal during their ongoing US tour, which Erik ten Hag's side lost 2-1, the defeat was blighted by injuries to Hojlund and Yoro. However, as per Custis (via Utd District), Hojlund has had a minor injury, which is set to keep him out of the next friendly with Real Betis on Wednesday (July 31).

However, the update is not so bright for the teenaged Yoro, who has sustained a metatarsal injury, which is set to keep him out until the first three games of the new season.

Coming to the game itself, Hojlund had opened the scoring inside 10 minutes before Gabriel Jesus equalised for the Gunners 16 minutes later. After Hojlund came off at the hour mark, Mikel Arteta's side then found a late winner through Gabriel Martinelli (81').

Meanwhile, Yoro was taken off during a drinks break after extended treatment, replaced by Will Fish, while Hojlund was substituted by Ethan Wheatley.

Following the friendly defeat to Arsenal, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag offered his thoughts on the injured duo of Rasmus Hojlund and new signing Leny Yoro.

The Dutchman said about Leny Yoro (as per MEN) that the extent of the injury would be known after 24 hours, as the teenager didn't attend full training. Ten Hag elaborated:

"Of course, it is too short (to know about their injuries), and we have to wait over 24 hours, then we will hopefully know more. We were careful, especially with Leny (Yoro), as he only did 50 per cent of the (training) sessions. He has to come up, but let's be positive and see what comes out."

About Rasmus Hojlund, the former Ajax tactician added similar sentiments:

"Of course, it is too short (to know about their injuries), and we have to wait over 24 hours, then we will hopefully know more. We were careful. But let's be positive and see what comes out."

Manchester United start their new campaign against Manchester City in the FA Community Shield at the Wembley in London on August 10 before their Premier League opener at home to Fulham six days later.
