Barcelona president Joan Laporta will reportedly hold a press conference to provide insights into the Blaugrana's current financial situation. A report from Mundo Deportivo claims that the club chief will address the media at the Auditori 1899 at the Spotify Camp Nou on Tuesday, September 3.

This was another turbulent summer for Barcelona. The Catalan giants found themselves in the middle of a financial crisis once again, limiting their dealings in the transfer market.

They were linked with players like Nico Williams, Federico Chiesa and Jonathan Tah this summer but failed to sign any of them. They eventually managed to sign Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig.

While rival clubs like Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have strengthened their squads significantly, Barcelona have had to rely on their youngsters for reinforcement this season. With disappointment looming in the Catalan capital, club president Joan Laporta has taken the initiative to provide clarity into the situation.

As per the aforementioned report, Laporta will shed light on several pressing topics, including the failed moves for players like Nico Williams and Federico Chiesa. He will also provide clarity into the registration of players, particularly the strategic use of Andreas Christensen's injury to secure Dani Olmo's registration.

Barcelona off to flying start despite off-field struggles

Despite the off-field issues, the Catalan giants have been the top-performing team in the Spanish top flight this season. Manager Hansi Flick has led the side to wins in each of their three league games so far, beating Valencia, Athletic Bilbao and Rayo Vallecano.

On the other hand, arch-rivals Real Madrid have already dropped four points this term despite making massive signings, including Kylian Mbappe's arrival.

As it stands, Barca sit at the top of the league table with nine points from three games, two points above second-placed Villarreal and four more than Los Blancos, who occupy the sixth spot. The Catalan giants will take on Real Valladolid in their next league fixture on Saturday, August 31.
