Manchester United fans have slammed Bruno Fernandes on social media after he was sent off in his side's 3-3 draw against FC Porto in the Europa League on Thursday, October 3. Fernandes was shown a second yellow card in the 81st minute for a high boot challenge on a Porto defender.

The Red Devils' captain has now received his marching orders in back-to-back games. The Portuguese midfielder was sent off in his side's league clash with Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday (September 29). However, the red card decision was rescinded after an appeal by Manchester United.

Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to air their disappointment with the 30-year-old. One user posted:

"LOOOOOL bruno consecutive red cards .. second red card in successive games it’s a shame at this point.. he’s jinxed"
"Wallahi he’s Ten Hag out and he’s not hiding it," a fan wrote, suggesting that Fernandes was playing to have the manager sacked.
"FERNANDES slowly turning to prime Ramos," one user said, taking a dig at the Manchester United star.

Check out how other fans reacted to Bruno Fernandes' red card below:

"Absolutely madness. It’s like a tv drama," one fan wrote.
"This guy is getting poor each day," another fan added.
"That sums our season up," chimed in yet another fan.

Despite being a man down and a goal behind in the final minutes of the match, Erik ten Hag's team rallied to secure a draw at the Estádio do Dragão, thanks to a stoppage-time header from Harry Maguire.

Which games will Bruno Fernandes miss for Manchester United in the Europa League

Fernandes received his first caution of the game in the 32nd minute for raising his foot before being shown a second yellow in the 81st minute for a similar challenge. The Portuguese midfielder will be banned for the Red Devils' upcoming Europa League tie.

The Red Devils are set to face Turkish club Fenerbahce, who are currently managed by former United coach Jose Mourinho, on October 24. They also have former United midfielders Fred and Sofyan Amrabat in their ranks.

Bruno Fernades is one of United's key players and his absence in such a important fixture will be a huge loss for the club.
