Roy Keane slammed Arsenal's Leandro Trossard after his sending-off against Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday, September 22. He said that the referee's decision was correct and that the forward should've been more careful.
The Cityzens hosted the Gunners at the Etihad in the Premier League on Sunday. Erling Haaland gave them the lead in the ninth minute before Riccardo Calafiori (22') equalised on his first start for the north London side. Gabriel Magalhaes scored from a corner in the first-half stoppage time to make it 2-1 for the visitors.
However, Arsenal saw Leandro Trossard being sent off as well. The Belgian was already on a yellow card after a challenge on Savinho in the 34th minute. He was then deemed to have fouled Bernardo Silva and then kicked the ball away after the referee's whistle. He was shown a second yellow card for delaying the restart and sent off.
After the game, Roy Keane slammed Trossard, saying (via Metro):
"If you are on a yellow card – I’ve said it before – you need to try not to give the referee a reason to give you another yellow card. He’s obviously barged into the player, and then he has kicked the ball away. It’s not even a debate. You don’t need to watch it 30 times! He’s wrong, and it’s the height of stupidity."
Arsenal defended deep in the second half and almost managed to secure their lead. However, John Stones scored the equaliser for Manchester City in the eighth minute to stoppage time as the game ended 2-2.

Roy Keane also took a sarcastic dig at Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya. He pointed out how the Spaniard went down a couple of times in the game due to an apparent injury but got up just fine. He said sarcastically (via Metro):
"I do worry about the Arsenal keeper though because he picks up a few injuries during the game, doesn’t he? He gets treatment and then he gets up. He obviously gets that magic sponge. That’s pretty good, yeah."
Raya made nine saves against Manchester City on the night and has kept the joint-highest three clean sheets in the Premier League so far.
The Gunners, however, have come under criticism for apparent time-wasting. As per BBC, the north London side take the longest average time to restart play in the Premier League this season at 34 seconds.
