Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez has reflected on his future amid reports linking him with a move away from the club. As per multiple reports, Alvarez wants to be an undisputed starter, something he has been deprived of at City due to talismanic Erling Haaland's presence.

Alvarez has now claimed that it's hard to be left out of important matches. The Argentine striker also claimed that he'd consider his future and needed some time to think about his decision. He said (via Fabrizio Romano on X):

"Last season, I was one of the players with the most minutes at City. But... in the end, you don't like being left out of important matches; you want to contribute. I'll take my time to think about what I want for myself, we'll see."

Julian Alvarez scored 19 goals and provided 13 assists in 54 appearances across competitions last season. He started 39 of those games as Erling Haaland was injured. However, when Haaland was fit, Alvarez became a substitute for the better part.

The Argentine striker played only 33 minutes out of the 210 during the UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid. Alvarez, who has won the FIFA World Cup and Copa America, joined Manchester City back in 2022.

He has so far made 103 appearances for them, scoring 36 goals and providing 18 assists. The 24-year-old, who is now entering his athletic prime, is contracted with the Cityzens until the end of the 2027-28 season. Alvarez has an estimated market value of €90 million (via Transfermarkt).

Clubs linked with Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez

Julian Alvarez is one of the best young strikers in world football at the moment. While the Argentine is currently representing his country at the Olympic games, rumor mills regarding his potential transfer have been going around.

As per TeamTalk, Atletico Madrid want Alvarez as a replacement for Alvaro Morata. Apart from that, Enzo Maresca's Chelsea and Mikel Arteta's Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the 24-year-old.

Arsenal have previously signed players like Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City. Alvarez could be the next addition to that list but it won't be cheap by any means.
