Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana shared his opinion on the club's latest signing Leny Yoro after their pre-season victory against Rangers F.C. The Red Devils won the friendly 2-0 at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, Scotland, on Saturday (July 20).

Ivorian winger Amad Diallo gave the lead to the Premier League giants in the 39th minute from an assist by English midfielder Mason Mount. Joe Hugill doubled the score from an assist by Maxi Oyedele in the 70th minute

Onana spoke highly of Leny Yoro, who made his debut for United. While speaking to the press after the win against Rangers, the Cameroonian goalkeeper said (via Manchester Evening News):

"That's why he's here [he has lots of talent]. If you want to be a Manchester United player, you must have quality and he's already shown himself in the first half. He's a young player, a talented player, good on the ball, so we're going to enjoy him this season."
"He will [have the temperament], he will, and we're here to help him. We're going to give him time, we know he's going to be alright and we have very good scouts here, so if they made him come, that means he's got a lot of quality," added Andre Onana.

Next, Manchester United are pitted against Arsenal in their pre-season friendly clash on July 27 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Andre Onana on Manchester United's preparations for the upcoming season

When asked about the changes to Erik ten Hag's backroom staff ahead of the upcoming season, Andre Onana said (via Manchester Evening News):

"I think it's very positive for the whole club, it's about all of us because we win and lose together. The club decided to make a lot of changes, so as a player, we just have to follow the decision."
"I think this process has to start at the start. We're going to fight for everything, of course, we know all what happened last season, but it's in past and we have everything in our hands," added the Cameroonian shot-stopper.

Speaking about the Red Devils' games before the beginning of the 2024-25 Premier League, Andre Onana said:

"We're going to America next week to prepare for the Premier League. It's a tough league, the best league in the world, so we'll be ready for the new season. Last season, I don't want to talk about it [laughs], so this season, it's going to be nice."

The Red Devils' tour of the United States includes matches against Arsenal, Real Betis, and Liverpool. They will face reigning Premier League champions Manchester City in the FA Community Shield final on August 10 at Wembley Stadium.

Manchester United's first match in the 2024-25 Premier League is against Fulham F.C. on August 16 at Old Trafford. Last season, Erik ten Hag's squad ended up eighth on the league table, while winning only the FA Cup.
