“If that’s his only problem, then he’s all right” - Marc Cucurella pokes fun at Chelsea teammate Cole Palmer for hilarious weakness

Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella has shared a hilarious weakness in teammate Cole Palmer. He heaped praise on the midfielder's ability in football but spoke about a lack of strength in his hair.

Cole Palmer has been excellent for the Blues since arriving from Manchester City for a reported fee of £42.5 million last summer. He has been one of the best players in the Premier League owing to his creativity, shooting ability, and composure in front of goal.

Palmer faced his Chelsea teammate Cucurella in the UEFA Euro 2024 final as England took on Spain. The former came off the bench and scored the equaliser for the Three Lions after Nico Wiliams had given Spain the lead. However, it went in vain as Mikel Oyarzabal eventually scored the winner for La Roja.

Cucurella recently spoke about Palmer's ability, referencing the aforementioned goal, and also spoke about his hair, saying (via The Guardian):

“If you see him not in his kit you would never in your life say he was a footballer, but then on the pitch … he shoots and it doesn’t seem like he is hitting it hard but he scores them all. He’s very different. I don’t know how to explain it: he’s special. We’re very lucky we have him.

“We’re lucky he didn’t play much in the Euros either because he came on and almost messed it up for us [scoring in the final]. If he carries on like this, he’ll be among the best. There’s not much strength in the hair, but if that’s his only problem, then he’s all right.”

Palmer has scored six goals and contributed five assists in seven Premier League games for Chelsea this season.

Chelsea star Levi Colwill on why Cole Palmer is 'frustrating'

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill also recently spoke about Cole Palmer and said that he could be 'frustrating' to face in training. He said that one cannot afford to give him even a little space or he will score. He also mentioned how the midfielder being so nonchalant about it can be frustrating.

Colwill said:

“You give him half a yard and it’s a goal. He’s so laid-back about it and it’s so frustrating at times because he’ll put it through your legs and score, then walk off like nothing has happened. You can’t get him back, that is the worst thing about it. Give him any chance outside the box or inside, it’s a 95% chance it will be a goal. You see that in most games.”

Since joining Chelsea, Palmer has scored 31 goals and provided 20 assists in 54 games so far. He is expected to be next in action for the Blues against Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League on August 20.
