French pundit Daniel Riolo has slammed Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for their behaviour in their ongoing legal battle with former player Kylian Mbappe. Allegedly, the Parisians have not paid the 25-year-old superstar his wages and bonuses, totaling approximately €55 million.
They have been ordered by the French league (LFP) to do so, as the case was brought to the commission. However, the Qatari-owned club have refused to make the payment. The case is now expected to go to another court.
Slamming the Parisian giants for their conduct, the pundit said (via Tribal Football):
"The story of the given word, it is worth nothing. Mbappe is in all his right and I think that, before a normal court, he will win his case. Before the League, it will be different, given that Nasser (Al-Khelaifi) is interested in Ligue 1."
"I am not sure that Mbappe wants a deal, I think he wants to bleed him dry. It is hatred between them. Their image is so degraded that people only want to see Mbappé's greed, they don't want to hear it."
Riolo added that he would do sue PSG if he was in the new Real Madrid signing's shoes. He said:
"They confuse Mbappé's performances, everything we can think of him, saying that he is arrogant, that he is bad at the moment. If I am in his place, I will go to the last penny. What they did in terms of moral harassment, especially with the digital army, is disgusting."
While the parties await arbitration on the matter from another court, Mbappe will face Real Sociedad on September 14 with Real Madrid in La Liga. PSG, on the other hand, have a match against Brest in Ligue 1 on the same day.
PSG release statement regarding the LFP's order to pay Kylian Mbappe's wages
On Thursday, September 12, the French League (LFP) ordered PSG to pay the outstanding wages to Mbappe, said to be €55 million. However, the Parisians have made it clear that they will not pay this sum.
While the LFP gave the club a week to fulfill the order, the Parisians have decided to ignore this, instead releasing a statement (via France24):
"Given the limits of the Commission's legal scope to make a full decision on this matter, the case must now be pursued before another court. PSG will look forward to presenting all the facts over the coming months and year."
After a long and drawn-out transfer saga, Mbappe left the Parc des Princes as a free agent this summer and joined Real Madrid. He has scored two goals in four league games for Los Blancos.
