Alphonso Davies picked Roberto Carlos over Marcelo when asked to choose between the two Real Madrid legends. In a recent interview with TSN, the Canadian full-back was asked to choose between the two Brazilian left-backs.

Davies, currently at Bayern Munich, noted that this was a tough choice. However, he eventually went on to name Carlos over Marcelo. Davies said in the interview:

"This is a very tough one. Both play the same position. [Which is also] my position. I think Roberto Carlos, I'd pick him [ahead of Marcelo]."

Journalist provides update on Real Madrid's Alphonso Davies pursuit

Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Alphonso Davies for some time now. Journalist Jorge C Picon has now provided an update on the transfer saga, claiming that the deal is progressing slowly.

Picon claimed despite interest, Los Blancos and Bayern Munich are yet to sit down for a formal negotiation. Davies, 23, has so far made 195 appearances for the Bavarians, scoring 11 goals and providing 31 assists in the process.

His blistering pace could be a massive addition to the left-hand side of Carlo Ancelotti's team. Despite having Ferland Mendy, Davies' arrival could be a major boost. The Canadian is contracted with Bayern until the end of the 2024-25 season and has an estimated market value of €50 million.
