Harry Maguire has sent a message to the Manchester United fans after his recent injury blow. He has vowed to come back stronger after a few weeks on the sidelines.

Taking to Instagram, Maguire accepted that he was frustrated to pick up an injury during Manchester United's draw to Aston Villa. He reportedly has a knee injury and will be out for the next few weeks. He posted:

"Frustrated to pick up an injury at the weekend, will be a few weeks on the sideline for me but I'll come back stronger."

Erik ten Hag confirmed the injury in his post-match interview and told BBC:

"We have to take them off at half-time. Tomorrow we have to see what is the diagnosis on it."

He added in his interview with MUTV:

"We have to assess this. I can't tell you now what the issue is. I know what the issue is but [I cannot say now] how good or bad it is. We have to see assess this tomorrow [Monday] and then we will bring you news."

Harry Maguire was a surprise starter against Aston Villa as he teamed up with Jonny Evans in the heart of the defense. He was replaced by Matthijs de Ligt at half-time.

Harry Maguire wants Manchester United players to take responsibility

Harry Maguire was asked about the mounting pressure on Erik ten Hag and the Manchester United star claimed that the players needed to take responsibility. He believes that the tactics can only help to a certain extent. He said before the Villa game (via ESPN):

"As a footballer, it's easy to look around and blame other people and blame your teammate or blame the staff or the tactics. You've got to look at yourself. We're the ones that go on the pitch. We're the ones that have to defend. You've got to take responsibility."

He added:

"We've got to find belief within ourselves. Take the belief from what we did last season at Villa Park. It was on fire last season there. Then we went there and got the victory that we needed last season. And we feel like we're playing better than we were last season. The results haven't been there. I feel like we should have more points on the board. But they're not, so we need to do something about it starting with Sunday."

However, Manchester United could not get a win against Aston Villa, with the game ending goalless, and the pressure remains on Erik ten Hag.
