Former footballer Paul Parker has taken shots at Manchester United player Antony. He believes that the Brazilian is not good enough to play for the Red Devils and is one of the worst left-footed players he has ever seen.

Speaking to BonusCodeBets, Parker claimed that the winger does not have the physicality to play in the Premier League and does not make the most of his best abilities. The former player added that left-footed players are either talented or have a powerful shot in their arsenal, but Antony has shown nothing so far at Old Trafford.

He said:

"I just don't think he's good enough [to remain at ManUtd]. He hasn't got the physicality, and it's less to do with muscle and size and more to do with presence and strength comes from within, but he doesn't play that way. He plays like someone with a small stature, rounded shoulders, and doesn't stand up with belief in himself."
"For someone with a left foot, he's got one of the worst left feet I've seen, and left-footers are normally always talented. They're either really talented or they've got a rocket of a left foot, and he just lacks any strength in his left foot. He struggles with power. Technique he struggles with. It just hasn't worked, and I don't see anything materialising for him now," he added.

Manchester United paid €100 million to sign Antony from Ajax in the summer of 2022. He has scored 12 goals and assisted five times in his 86 matches for the Red Devils.

Antony told to leave Manchester United and head back to Ajax

Antony has been linked with a move to Newcastle United or Crystal Palace amid reports that Manchester United have decided to let the Brazilian leave in January. Paul Parker was quizzed about the possible moves and he believes that the winger should not be staying in England.

Speaking to BonusCodeBets, Parker advised Antony to head back to Ajax as he will be able to get back to his best in the Eredivisie. He does not see Newcastle United or Crystal Palace matching the asking price set by Manchester United and said:

"I'm not seeing Newcastle or Palace being interested in him unless they're going to virtually be given him by United. They may see value in that. I just don't want to see him turn out like a van de Beek. It would be best for him to go back home, and his home is Ajax. That's where he had a lot of success and where his name was made. I'm not seeing Newcastle, and Palace financially doesn't work."

Amad Diallo has provided some stiff competition to Antony for the right-wing spot this season. Mason Mount is also capable of playing in that position but the former Chelsea man is injured once again.
