Former Manchester United player Paul Parker has urged the club to sign midfielder Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace. Parker claimed the Englishman was a better passer than Bruno Fernandes and didn't give the ball as cheaply as the Portuguese.

Speaking to MyBettingSites, Parker praised Wharton, saying the 20-year-old had a good passing range. He further urged his former side to target him this summer, saying:

"His range of passing is fantastic. He very rarely gives it away. He's always positive with his passing as well. Very, very positive. I think he's got a long range. His longer range of passing is good. Bruno's is good, but I think he's better. He doesn't give the ball away as cheaply as Bruno."

Adam Wharton signed for Crystal Palace in January 2023 from Blackburn Rovers. The midfielder was reportedly a target for Chelsea as well but opted to join their London rivals.

Paul Parker understands why Crystal Palace wouldn't sell Adam Wharton but wants Manchester United to push for him

Park Parker believes Crystal Palace will not let Wharton leave easily, but hopes Manchester United will try to sign him. He believes the London side will be open to accepting an offer in the range of £40-50 million. He said:

"'If you're Crystal Palace unless someone comes in with a really, really stupid offer you're not going to let him go. Especially the way they finished the season. The manager is going to want to try and keep that going because the way they finished the season was incredible. The football they were playing had gone to another level, so he's going to want to keep that level going.
"But you have to say if someone does come in, I see them selling for £40m or £50m and after one season. I think every Crystal Palace fan will have to say that's great business. How much of that can go back into building a team? You're not going to go and get another one like him, but you could go out and get someone different who has the same impact."

Bayern Munich and Manchester City are also said to be interested in signing Wharton this summer. Manchester United are said to be looking for a central midfielder if they can sell Casemiro.
