Fabrizio Romano details Chelsea outcast's plans this summer.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shed light on the future of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was on a one-year loan to Real Madrid last season. The 29-year-old Spaniard joined the Blues from Athletic Bilbao in 2018 and his contract there is valid until June 30, 2025.

Romano reported that Kepa's plan is to wait for Los Blancos' decision. That is dependent on their other goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, who has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea. Earlier, the journalist mentioned that the La Liga giants have not received any offers for the Ukranian from the Blues as of yet.

Fabrizio Romano wrote on X (formerly Twitter):

"More on Kepa. His plan to wait for Real Madrid is clear and decided, based on what will happen with Lunin’s exit. Ancelotti and his staff appreciated Kepa as player but also as top professional last season, never complaining. Real could bring him back if Lunin leaves."

Kepa Arrizabalaga has also received a formal proposal from Saudi Pro League club Al Ittihad, as per Fabrizio Romano.

Kepa Arrizabalaga maintained nine clean sheets in 20 appearances across all competitions for Los Blancos. He was a part of the squad that won the 2023–24 La Liga, the 2024 Supercopa de España, and the 2023–24 UEFA Champions League.

Real Madrid's Andriy Lunin on his future amid rumors about joining Chelsea

Spanish outlet Radioestadio Noche reports that Andriy Lunin is close to leaving Real Madrid for Chelsea. They added that Carlo Ancelotti is not a big fan of the Ukrainian outside of football.

Last week, Lunin mentioned that his future depends on what Los Blancos decide and said (via Marca):

"The only thing I can say is that everything was going the right way about me staying and now the ball is on Real Madrid's court. That's all I can say about my future. It's all in their hands now."

Lunin, who arrived at Santiago Bernabéu from Zorya Lugansk in 2018, has maintained 16 clean sheets in 48 appearances for the Spanish club. His contract with Los Blancos is valid until Jun 30, 2025.
