Former Premier League striker Troy Deeney praised Arsenal attacker Bukayo Saka after the Gunners' 2-0 win over Wolves. The Englishman set up a goal in the first half and scored a second to beat Gary O'Neil's side at the Emirates on Saturday, 17th August.
The former Watford attacker, who is working as a pundit now, was left in awe seeing the Englishman run riot in the opening weekend and shared his opinion in BBC's Team of the Week column.
“I worked on Arsenal’s win against Wolves for Talksport and Saka was immense,” Deeney said.
The pundit said that Wolves could not live with the 22-year-old Arsenal talisman.
“He ran them ragged. They couldn’t live with him. He scored a great goal and his assist for Kai Havertz was perfect as well. Great cross, assist and goal,” he shared his analysis.
Havertz's goal helped alleviate any fears that the Gunners, who failed to sign forward Benjamin Sesko, would struggle for goals this season.
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard hails Bukayo Saka
Club captain Martin Odegaard also hailed Saka and the impact he has on the team. He said that the winger holds the key to the Premier League side's fortunes this season.
"He will just get better and better. You see him every day in training, he is working so hard and he is working on all the small details to get better. I am sure he is just going to improve and improve. I can't wait to see where he takes it," Ødegaard said (via ESPN).
Saka has been instrumental in Arsenal's success so far and comes into the season having scored 20 goals and assisting 14 more last season. Odegaard called his teammate's quality 'unbelievable' and that 'sky is the limit' for the 22-year-old.
"There is no roof for this guy. It is unbelievable the quality that he has and how professional he is, how much he loves the game and how much he puts into it every day. The sky is the limit for him," the 25-year-old said.
"I am just happy to have him on my team and we have got to help him to improve all the time and push him. I am really happy for him," concluded Odegaard in his post match interview.
Arsenal are looking at challenging Manchester City for the third time in a row, having finished second best to Pep Guardiola's side in the last two seasons. Bukayo Saka's performances will be important for Mikel Arteta as he aims to pip his mentor to the title.
