Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has once again hit out at Paul Pogba after the midfielder's ban was reduced. He claims that the Frenchman is a lazy player but had the ability to become a success.

Speaking on the Three Up Front podcast, Souness stated that Pogba was a talented footballer, but he wasted his abilities. He believes that the Juventus star does not use his brain and does not work hard enough. He said (via GOAL):

"He is extremely talented, but he's a wasted talent. The worst thing that happened to him was winning the World Cup because from that point on he just sat in his armchair. When José Mourinho was at Manchester United, he called Pogba a virus. He's a lazy player, but midfield is a position that you have to take personally."
"It's the only position on the pitch where you're directly up against someone who's trying to do the same job as you. I always wanted to have a better day than whoever I was up against, and the only thing I was taught to do was work harder than my opponent. Pogba just goes out to play and show off to everyone how cute and clever he is, rather than trying to make his opponent have a miserable day. He's got all the ability and athleticism you need; he's just missing something upstairs," he added.

Graeme Souness has hit out at Paul Pogba on multiple occasions in the past and was highly critical of the midfielder during his time at Manchester United.

Paul Pogba releases statement after CAS reduce his ban

Paul Pogba has released a statement after the Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced his ban down to 18 months (from four years) and stated that he was delighted to see them rule in his favor. He admitted that he was waiting to get back on the pitch and wrote:

"Following the decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, I can look forward to the day when I can follow my dreams again. I always stated that I never knowingly breached World Anti-Doping Agency regulations when I took a nutritional supplement prescribed to me by a doctor, which does not affect or enhance the performance of male athletes. I play with integrity, and although I must accept that this is a strict liability offence, I want to place on record my thanks to the Court of Arbitration for Sport's judges who heard my explanation. This has been a hugely distressing period in my life because everything I have worked so hard for has been put on hold. Thank you again for all the love and support. I just cannot wait to get back on the pitch."

Paul Pogba is still under contract at Juventus, but reports suggest they are discussing a contract termination. Saudi Pro League sides, MLS clubs, and Ligue 1 side Marseille have been linked with the former Manchester United midfielder.
