Arsenal fans have blasted Thomas Partey for his performance despite defeating Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 in their opening 2024-25 Premier League fixture. The two sides faced each other at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, August 17.

Kai Havertz headed in from Bukayo Saka's exceptional cross to break the deadlock in the 25th minute. Wolves had some good chances to equalize soon after but were denied by David Raya.

Partey made a massive error in the 62nd minute, enabling Rayan Ait-Nouri to get a shot away. Fortunately for Arsenal, his effort was off target. Despite Wolves looking bright in the second half, Saka doubled the Gunners' advantage with a good finish in the bottom-right corner in the 74th minute.

Even though Arsenal picked up all three points, fans were unhappy with Partey. The 31-year-old played all 90 minutes in the No. 6 role but lost four duels and looked shaky in possession.

One fan posted:

"Partey has been awful this match"

Another fan tweeted:

"I'll pay whoever makes a Partey comp of this game. He has unironically dropped a 0/10"

Other fans reacted by posting:

"Need parety replacement asap," one fan tweeted
"Thomas Partey is actually sh** now. All those injuries made him slower than prime Mertesacker," another commented
"Partey .. sorry buddy but its been a pleasure," one fan typed
"Partey really fell off icl, he was so press resistant before and now he feels so unsecure in possession," another chimed in
"He crumbles when there’s no pressure on him while we literally have other players who don’t," one fan pointed out
