Barcelona fans were disapponted with the performance of striker Robert Lewandowski in the 3-0 loss to AS Monaco in the Joan Gamper Trophy clash on Monday (August 12).

It was Barca's first loss in the Joan Gamper cup match since 2012. Fans were left upset with the performance of multiple big players, including Lewandowski, Ferran Torres and Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Fans took to X to criticise Lewandowski's poor performance. The striker has been in poor form since the last season, facing the wrath of Culers for his inability to deliver. Here are some of the reactions:

"Lewandowski cannot be our starter going into the season. We will suffer with Lewandowski." a user said.
"If Hansi flick does not send Lewandowski packing , Lewandowski will send Hansi flick packing" another fan joked.
"I know it’s a friendly, but Lewandowski either you leave this club or I leave" a fan added.
"Lewandowski is a joke charley. Get rid of that brother else we are in big trouble," another fan claimed.
"We have to watch Lewandowski ball for another whole season at Barca 💔 This is going to be long" a netizen wrote.
"Lewandowski is cr7 levels of not accepting he’s washed," an X user quipped.
"I really don’t know what Lewandowski offers you. He’s not even a box presence anymore. Can’t move, can’t run, can’t press, can’t even position himself to be a poacher. What are we doing? The thought of him being indispensable gives me chills, man. It’s ridiculous." one analysed.

Barcelona's 3-0 loss to AS Monaco in the Joan Gamper Cup friendly marked the first time they lost the cup in 12 years. It also marked their worst defeat in competition history.

After the first half ended goalless, Monaco's Lamine Camara opened the scoring in the 50th minute. Breel Embolo doubled their lead in the 56th minute, assisted by Takumi Minamino. Christian Mawissa scored in the 85th minute to seal the deal for Monaco.

Barcelona didn't start too many usual starters in the game, as their line-up included many La Masia products like Marc Bernal, Marc Casado and Pau Victor. Barca open their La Liga campaign against Valencia on August 18.
