Gary Neville shares hilarious reaction video after Manchester United win and Liverpool lose in Premier League

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has shared a hilarious reaction video after his former club won while Liverpool lost in the Premier League on September 14. The Red Devils played away from home at Southampton, where they secured a 3-0 win. The Reds, on the other hand, failed to win in their home game against Nottingham Forest, losing 1-0.

After the Reds completed their match at Anfield, Gary Neville shared a clip of himself on social media watching the games. He reacted hilariously in the video, which was posted on Instagram, saying (via SPORTbible):

"Well, what a football weekend. United win. Salford win. And the big one... Liverpool lose."

He went on to laugh before calling it a "beautiful weekend":

Manchester United were widely expected to beat Southampton, who have returned to the Premier League this season, and they did so comprehensively. However, it is worth noting that the Red Devils struggled at first, nearly gifting their hosts a goal through a penalty.

However, Cameron Archer missed his effort from the spot, and the Red Devils quickly took control of the game, scoring from two corner routines. Matthijs de Ligt scored the first goal in the 35th minute, while Marcus Rashford followed it up with a curler in the 41st minute.

Southampton went down to 10 men after Jack Stephens was sent off for a bad tackle on Alejandro Garnacho in the 79th minute. The Argentine talent recovered well enough to complete Manchester United's win in the dying moments of the game with a shot into the roof of the net.

For Liverpool, the case was rather different, as they failed to break down a strong and organized Nottingham Forest defense. The only goal in the game came from a rather brilliant effort from Callum Hudson-Odoi in the 72nd minute. He powered his shot beyond goalkeeper Alisson Becker from range.

Where do Liverpool and Manchester United sit on the Premier League table?

Despite a loss against Nottingham Forest, Liverpool sit in second place on the Premier League table after four games with nine points. Brighton & Hove Albion, who were the nearest threat to their position, endured a 0-0 draw against newly promoted side Ipswich Town, leaving the Seagulls in third place.

However, Liverpool have a game in hand over Arsenal, who face Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 15. If the Gunners, who have seven points, win their match, the Reds will be forced down into third place.

Meanwhile, Manchester United were ambling in mid-table after gameweek three, as they endured losses to the Reds and Brighton. However, game week four has seen them snatch up three points, pushing them into ninth place. They have a game in hand over clubs like Chelsea, Tottenham, and Bournemouth, who could leapfrog them, depending on results.
