Former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard is reportedly under police scrutiny in South Korea. Lingard is suspected of riding an electric scooter in public without a license.

According to a report on GOAL (via YTN), the former England international put himself under the radar of the law authorities after uploading a photo of himself on a scooter. In the now-deleted post, the 31-year-old could be seen riding the scooter without any safety equipment.

Lingard's post has caught the attention of the Gangnam Police Department who are now investigating if the FC Seoul winger had the correct international license. They are also investigating to ascertain if the player had been drinking before the incident.

Lingard moved to Asia in February 2024 after signing for FC Seoul as a free agent. The ex-Nottingham Forest star suffered a difficult start to life in Asia after an injury setback but is slowly rediscovering his form. He has been reportedly named club captain and has netted twice in his last three outings, taking his tally to four goals in 18 games for the South Korean club.

This current off-the-field incident comes barely a year after the Manchester United academy graduate was handed an 18-month driving ban in the United Kingdom. In September 2023, Lingard was found guilty of drunk-driving at double the legal alcohol limit.

"Enjoying my football and in a happy place" - Ex-Manchester United star Jesse Lingard gives update on life in Asia

Jesse Lingard has opened up on life in Asia with FC Seoul. According to the former Manchester United star, he is enjoying his football and life in Korea. The 31-year-old joined the South Korean club earlier in the year after he was released by Nottingham Forest.

Lingard recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to update fans on how he is faring in the K-League. He posted:

"Back on X, Korea is amazing. Enjoying my football and in a happy place.”

This was Lingard's first post on the platform in about 15 months. The Englishman had been silent on social media for a while as he went through a rough patch in his career.

After being released by Manchester United in 2022, he penned a one-year contract with Nottingham Forest. However, Lingard failed to register a goal contribution in 17 games for the Tricky Trees in the 2022-23 campaign and was released at the end of the season. Despite attracting interest from various clubs mostly notably in Saudi Arabia, he opted for a move to Asia.
