Former Ballon d'Or winner Hristo Stoichkov shared his opinion on Barcelona's target Nico Williams for the summer transfer window. The 22-year-old forward recently lifted the Euro 2024 trophy with Spain.

Hristo Stoichkov, who won the Ballon d'Or in 1994, mentioned that Nico Williams can "make a big difference" at the Catalan club, saying: (via @BarcaUniversal on X):

"Nico? Not only can he play as a winger, he can also play from the other side, as a center forward or false '9'. He can make a big difference at Barça."

On July 15, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Barcelona are set to advance in talks with Nico Williams' camp starting from this week. This includes discussing the salary structure for the forward. Blaugrana manager Hansi Flick has already approved the 22-year-old as a top transfer target for the summer.

Nico Williams recorded eight goals and 19 assists in 37 appearances across competitions for Athletic Bilbao while also winning the Copa del Rey last season.

He pulled an impressive performance in his first UEFA European Championship. He was named Man of the Match in Spain's 2-1 win over England in the final. Overall, he netted two goals and provided one assist in six matches while maintaining 89.67% passing accuracy in the Euro 2024.

When asked which player from Spain's Euro 2024 squad deserves to win the Ballon d'Or, the Athletic Bilbao winger replied (via @MadridXtra on X):

"Carvajal."

Dani Carvajal netted one goal while maintaining 91.6% passing accuracy in the Euro 2024. Overall, the 32-year-old defender, who made his debut for Spain in 2014, has recorded one goal and seven assists in 48 appearances for La Roja. He won the 2023 UEFA Nations League along with Euro 2024.
