Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed in a video uploaded on his YouTube channel UR Cristiano on how he would like to be remembered.

The 39-year-old is one of the game's best players and most prolific goalscorers, scoring over 900 goals for club and country in an illustrious career spanning more than two decades. Having started out in the early 2000s with Sporting CP, Ronaldo is still going strong with his current club Al-Nassr and the Portugal national team.

In the video titled 'The Untold story of my biggest award', Ronaldo was asked how he would like his kid to remember him 10-20 years for now. The Portugal legend replied (as per GOAL):

"I will say, unique player. In life, a good man. For me, it's the most important thing."

About receiving UEFA's special award for being the competition's all-time top-scorer (140 goals) ahead of the 2024-25 Champions League draw ceremony, Ronaldo took a trip down memory lane:

"Honestly, never. I never thought one day I'd be on this stage. I always believed that I was going to be a professional player. But the rest, no. My whole life, it's about challenge.
"I left my house as an 11-year-old to live in a big city. So for me, it's easy. I change Madeira to Lisbon, Lisbon to England., England to Italy, Italy to I'm back in Spain. For me, it's not a problem, it's part of my life. I'm used to having this kind of a life."

Ronaldo said that he's motivated to scoring more goals and continue winning awards:

"For me, it's a pleasure. To be recognised in this competition for all-time top scorer. It's a unique trophy for a unique player, I'm joking. So I'm happy.
"When I receive trophies, I am always thinking of my family, especially my kids. They still see daddy receiving awards, daddy scoring goals and playing football. For me, it's amazing. It's my motivation to carry on playing."

Ronaldo is expected to feature in his side's Saudi Pro League clash with Al-Wehda on Friday (September 27) after missing the King's Cup clash with Al-Hazem due to a virus.

Cristiano Ronaldo has made a superb start to the new season with Al-Nassr after drawing blanks in five games at Euro 2024, where Portugal lost to France on penalties in the quarter-final.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has scored in five of six games across competitions, registering five goals and two assists. However, he has missed two of his club's last three games due to a virus.

In Cristiano Ronaldo's absence, Stefano Pioli's side drew 1-1 at Al-Shorta in their AFC Champions League Elite opener before winning 2-1 at Al-Hazm in the Kings Cup of Champions Round of 32 earlier this week.
