Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the transfer situation of Dani Olmo, who has been linked with a move to Barcelona this summer. The 26-year-old Euro 2024 winner has been playing for RB Leipzig since 2020 and is contracted until June 30, 2027.

The former La Masia member recently won the Euro 2024 title with Spain. Post that, many clubs including the Blaugrana, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing him.

Barcelona are actively staying in touch with Dani Olmo and RB Leipzig while they are waiting to sign Nico Williams, as per Fabrizio Romano. The Catalan club believe that the RB Leipzig man is interested in making a move to Camp Nou. According to Romano, Bayern Munich have also been eyeing Dani Olmo since May while no bids have been made from Manchester City.

Earlier this month when he was asked about joining the La Liga side at a recent event, Olmo replied (via @ManagingBarca):

"Sign for Barcelona? We'll see."

While speaking about where he would like to play in the upcoming season, Olmo said (via Barca Blaugranes):

"The people who deal with these matters already know what I want. What I want is to be in a place where I am valued and the most important thing for me is to win, I am very ambitious. We have also won titles at Leipzig and the club knows how ambitious I am. It is always nice to be associated with big teams."

When asked specifically about his possibility of signing for the Blaugrana, the Spaniard said:

"There are several options, the people who manage my affairs know what I want, as I said."

Dani Olmo scored eight goals and provided five assists in 25 appearances across all competitions for RB Leipzig last season.
