Journalist slams Kylian Mbappe for recent comments

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe has angered a press member with his recent comments at the France national team presser. The 2018 World Cup winner shared a confident message directed at his critics but his words seemed to have displeased a journalist.

Speaking before France's UEFA Nations League clash against Italy on Friday (September 6), the Frenchman told the press (via Goal):

"I'm at a stage in my life and my career where I don't notice anymore. I come, I play, I try to do my best, to help the team. What people think is the least of my worries."

His statement was not appreciated by Daniel Riolo, with the journalist explosively responding to the Real Madrid star's comments on RMC Sport, saying (via Goal):

"If you have unanimity around these remarks, it means something, you can't interpret them differently. You are clearly facing someone who has a deplorable attitude. Either he is lying or he is stupid. He can't say that he doesn't care what people think since he is a player who benefits from the services of the most cutting-edge communication agencies in Paris."

He concluded by saying:

"If you have people who manage everything around your life, it means that you pay attention to your image and what you give. You can't say that 'People's opinions are the least of your worries' or it means that you haven't understood what is happening around you, which I don't believe."

Kylian Mbappe and his side lost the UEFA Nations League clash against Italy 3-1. The Real Madrid star will next face Belgium on Monday (September 9).

Kylian Mbappe reflects on return to the Parc des Princes

Kylian Mbappe said he was excited to return to the Parc Des Prince following his departure from the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer. The forward called the stadium home for seven years during his stint with the Paris-based club following his move from AS Monaco in 2017.

Speaking to the press before France faced Italy in the UEFA Nations League, the Real Madrid star said (via Football Espana):

“The stadium is special. I have spent many years here and I have many memories. It’s the stadium I know best from my career at the moment. I have only good memories with my family, with the players. Tomorrow’s reception, I don’t expect much. The most important thing is to win and start the Nations League well.”

Kylian Mbappe was prolific for PSG, scoring 256 goals and providing 108 assists in 308 games before he left France for Spain this summer.
