Manchester United have voiced their displeasure on X after manager Erik ten Hag opted not to include Amad Diallo in the starting XI to face Brentford. The two sides are set to clash in the Premier League at Old Trafford later today (Saturday, October 19).

Andre Onana starts in goal for Manchester United while Diogo Dalot, Jonny Evans, Matthijs de Ligt, and Lisandro Martinez make up the defense. The midfield consists of Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Bruno Fernandes.

Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Rasmus Hojlund start up front to complete the starting XI.

Diallo has struggled for consistency this season, scoring just one goal and providing an assist in 10 appearances across all competitions. His replacement in Garnacho has fared much better, garnering four goals and three assists in 11 appearances.

Despite this, fans are furious as one posted:

"No Amad. No party. That front three don’t hold the ball up enough. The manager never learns."

Another fan tweeted:

"Amad dropped for no reason crazy"

Here are some more reactions:

"Just win it, Garnacho over Amad what a joke," a fan commented.
"AMAD deserves to be in the starting lineup," one fan insisted.
"No Amad in the starting lineup, whats up with this gaffer?" another questioned.
"Amad on the bench again. E no better for ten hag," one fan posted.
"Dear Amad Diallo, I’m sorry that man is your manager let me be honest," another chimed in.

Chris Sutton makes bold prediction for Manchester United vs Brentford PL fixture

BBC Sport columnist Chris Sutton has backed Manchester United to defeat Brentford 2-1 in their Premier League clash later today.

The Red Devils have struggled for form this season and are currently 13th in the league table with eight points from seven games. They have won just one out of their last five league games and have scored just five goals - which is the joint-second lowest in the Premier League.

In comparison, Brentford are 11th in the table with 10 points. Despite this, Ten Hag and Co. have the statistical advantage, having won each of their last five home league games against the Bees, with their last loss coming in 1937.

Sutton wrote about the upcoming clash(via BBC Sport):

"I was at this game last season and Brentford scored early but Scott McTominay found the net twice in stoppage time to nick a win for Manchester United when they did not deserve anything from the game. This time? Well, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag needs a win, with his side 14th in the table and the joint-second lowest scorers with five goals from seven league games."

He added:

"Logic tells me that, while Brentford are yet to pick up an away point so far, they are the better team, and have been the better team all season. We also know the Bees still love an early goal, so they will probably take the lead again... but I just have a gut feeling that United will edge this one again, somehow."
"I can’t really tell you why, other than they have to, and also because Statman Dave said this would be 2-1 to Manchester United, so I am taking his advice. Hopefully, he is better with his predictions than he is with his stats."

Sutton's Prediction: 2-1
