Liverpool fans have opened up on social media about Reds full-back Konstantinos Tsimikas, who they feel has been criticized unfairly. This comes after the Reds secured a 1-0 win in the Premier League against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on October 5.

In the match, Tsimikas was a regular threat on the left flank for 79 minutes, before getting substituted off for Andrew Robertson. He won four duels and was a consistent force for the Reds, making 97 touches and maintaining a pass accuracy of 92%. He also provided the pass that led to Cody Gakpo's assist for Diogo Jota's goal in the ninth minute.

However, Tsimikas has not had an easy time convincing Liverpool fans, especially on social media. They notably questioned Jurgen Klopp's decision to start him while the German manager was still at the helm. More recently, under Arne Slot, they were not pleased to see him start in their 3-1 win over AC Milan on September 17.

After the match against Crystal Palace, though, fans were impressed with his performance, leading them to question the criticism he has faced. They said on social media:

"Amount of sh*t Tsimikas gets from Liverpool fans is ludicrous, been a more than dependable back-up at LB for years at this point," one fan said.
"Well I think Tsimikas has played really well today 😌" another fan added.
"Tsimikas is actually so underrated. Love this guy best backup LB itw," a third agreed.
"Tsimikas is slowly gain my trust to starts every game now," another admitted.
"Tsimikas is getting better and better," another agreed.
"Never, ever understood the hate towards Tsimikas. It wrecks my head." this fan complained.
"Tsimikas doesn’t ever get the credit he deserves uno, plays his position so well." this fan added.

Crystal Palace's call for a penalty was undeserved: Liverpool head coach Arne Slot

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has frowned at calls for a penalty for Crystal Palace in their match against the Reds at Selhurst Park. During the game, Reds captain Virgil van Dijk held onto Marc Guehi's arm to stop the Eagles' defender from reaching a ball in the penalty area.

Referee Simon Hooper decided against giving a penalty to the shock and dismay of the Palace players. Arne Slot agreed with this decision afterwards, as he told the press (via Eurosport):

"Yeah, well, the ball is going to the goalkeeper. [Guehi] would never have got there. But probably, that's always [the case] with VAR, he wouldn't have changed it the VAR. But if this is for me, there's no penalty because he [Guehi] will never get the ball."

The Liverpool manager will be pleased that the call went their way, as their one goal lead stood. This will see them maintain their standing at the top of the Premier League table this gameweek.
