Fans slammed Germany forward Kai Havertz after their 2-2 draw against the Netherlands in the Nations League on September 10. The Arsenal striker played the full 90 minutes, but his performance was not pleasing to the fans, who made sure to speak their minds about the 25-year-old afterwards.

Havertz finished the game with an xG of 0.98 from just three shots at goal, which means he got into the right positions and found his chances well. However, the striker did not score, even missing a notably big chance that could have won the game for Germany.

Denzel Dumfries scored the equalizer to make it 2-2 in the 50th minute, and only two minutes later, Kai Havertz needed to score for Germany. He received the ball from near point-blank range, deep in the six-yard box, but put his effort well over the crossbar.

After the game, fans questioned the German striker's abilities on X (formerly Twitter).

"Havertz is trash! He doesn’t deserve to start for Germany," one fan exclaimed.
"Kick Havertz off the team, I'm so serious," another complained.
"Havertz never play for my beautiful country again you clown," a fan was not pleased.
"Havertz runs like an headless chicken. I wonder what’s wrong with him," another contemplated.
"Someone said he plays like he is wearing heels 👠 😭" a fan agreed.
"Havertz is complete rubbish," another added.

Netherlands head coach reveals reason for substituting off Matthijs de Ligt at half-time against Germany

Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman has explained his decision to substitute Matthijs de Ligt at half-time in their 2-2 draw against Germany. The Manchester United defender has not had an easy time adapting since his return to the starting lineup for Ons Oranje during the international break.

It is worth noting that De Ligt did not play a single game during Euro 2024, as he sat on the bench throughout. He moved from Bayern Munich to Manchester United during the summer, and so far, has been trusted to start games for the Netherlands.

However, a poor showing against Bosnia did not help his standing. Against Germany, he made a poor pass that led to the Germans equalizing 1-1. By halftime, he came off for Jan Paul van Hecke.

Speaking after the game, Koeman said (via Metro):

"Of course, I would rather have kept Matthijs de Ligt on the pitch. It just looks like he is now in a period where all his mistakes are being punished. I gave him a new chance today, but eventually protected him by taking him off."

De Ligt hopes to get back into better form when he returns to play for Manchester United in their next game against Southampton on September 14.
