Declan Rice has named his Arsenal teammate Takehiro Tomiyasu the most professional player he has ever met. In a candid conversation on the Gunners' official X (formerly Twitter) page, the England international hailed Tomiyasu for his professionalism.
Rice along with Leandro Trossard and Takehiro Tomiyasu joined Pre-season Quickfire Questions on Arsenal's official X channel. They were asked about their favorite hotels, beaches and other hotel amenities.
On being asked to choose between spa and gym as hotel amenities, Tomiyasu promptly replied 'gym'. Rice reacted to Tomiyasu's reply stating he has never seen a more professional player than the Japan international. The former West Ham United star said, as quoted by Arsenal's X account:
"He is the most professional player I've come across."
Tomiyasu joined the Gunners in the summer of 2021 from Bologna in a deal worth a reported £19.8 million. He has so far made 83 appearances for the north London giants having scored twice while producing six assists.
The versatile Japanese defender is out with a knee injury and missed Arsenal's season opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, August 17. Mikel Arteta's side beat the Midlands club 2-0 to kick their season off with all three points.
Pundit believes Serie A superstar could be a game-changer for Arsenal
Pundit Don Hutchinson has claimed that Victor Osimhen could become a game-changer for Arsenal. The Nigeria international has been heavily linked with an exit from Napoli in recent months but is yet to secure a move.
Mikel Arteta's side have been linked with the former Lille attacker's signature along with Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Don Hutchinson has insisted that the 25-year-old would be a massive addition to the Gunners if they manage to sign the striker.
Hutchinson told BBC Radio Five Live Football Daily Podcast, as quoted by The Boot Room:
"I think they need one more (signing), and that one more is a striker. You know how good he (Osimhen), and he is a game-changer for them (Napoli). Are Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz going to be the men to try and get anywhere near Erling Haaland's numbers? Probably not."
Arsenal finished second in the Premier League in the last two seasons but things could have been different if they had a prolific striker up front. Gabriel Jesus has scored just 19 goals and provided 15 assists in 70 appearances for the Gunners to date. Osimhen, on the other hand, is a clinical finisher who boasts an impressive tally of 76 goals and 18 assists in 133 appearances for Napoli.
