Cristiano Ronaldo shared a message on social media after his late goal helped Al Nassr secure all three points in their thrilling Saudi Pro League game against Al Shabab on Friday (October 18). The legendary forward converted a 97th-minute penalty to see his side take the win and move up to second on the points table.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has been in inspiring form for the Saudi side this season, bagging nine goals and three assists in his 10 outings. This includes six goals and two assists in seven league games.

After the final whistle on Friday, the Real Madrid legend took to X to issue a rallying cry to his team and supporters, writing:

"We Never Give Up."

After seven games, Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr are in second place on the table, four points behind reigning champions Al Hilal. The five-time UEFA Champions League winner has yet to claim a league title in the Near East. His contract at the Riyahd-based club will end in 2025.

"More likely to purchase the club than sign for them" - Ex-Liverpool star backs Cristiano Ronaldo to buy League One side

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has tipped Cristiano Ronaldo to buy League One outfit Wrexham instead of signing for them. The Portuguese legend currently plays for the Saudi Pro-League side Al Nassr.

His current deal with the Riyadh-based club is set to expire in the summer of 2025 after two and a half seasons. Rumors about the next step that the 39-year-old will take have been rife. However, Lawrenson does not think the superstar will take an on-the-pitch role at the Welsh club, telling Sports Casting (via GOAL):

"Anything's possible in football these days, even Cristiano Ronaldo playing for Wrexham! I would say that it's highly improbable, he's more likely to purchase the club than sign for them in my eyes."
"Wrexham don't seat much more than 10k in their stadium, I can't see him playing to such a small audience in all honesty, that said you'd struggle to get a ticket there if he was playing. He'd fill the stadium anywhere he goes," he added.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been phenomenal for Al Nassr, scoring 67 goals and providing 18 assists in 74 games. He is currently the player with the most official goals in the sport — 907.
