Since his retirement, former Manchester City star Sergio Aguero has been engaging with live-streaming platforms and collaborating with various online influencers. Recently, a video of him reacting to a bodyguard’s preference between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo went viral on social media.

Aguero, who last played for Barcelona, joined YouTuber Adin Ross on a small-sided football pitch for a live stream. During the session, he interacted with several people, including a bodyguard.

The 36-year-old asked the bodyguard whether he preferred his former teammate and close friend Messi or his long-time rival Ronaldo. The bodyguard quickly expressed his preference for Ronaldo, which visibly surprised the legendary striker.

Despite his initial reaction, the exchange was lighthearted, and both ended up laughing.

When Aguero asked the bodyguard, “Who do you prefer, Ronaldo or Messi?” the bodyguard responded, “I like Ronaldo.” Aguero, taken aback, asked, “What?” The bodyguard then explained that he had followed Ronaldo before he was even aware of Messi.

Fans had a field day on social media platform X, with some suggesting that the bodyguard’s choice might have swayed Aguero from being a Messi fan to a Ronaldo supporter.

One fan joked:

"he converted Aguero into a Ronaldo fan 😂."

Another fan wrote:

"Bro owned aguero and Messi 😭😭💀."

Here are a few more reactions:

"He knows ball," another Ronaldo enthusiast praised the bodyguard for his knowledge of the sport.
"Aguero don’t have the heart to take it," claimed one fan
"The last statement is the key to we the Ronaldo fans," a Ronaldo supporter remarked.

Sergio Aguero shares his thoughts on who will challenge Manchester City in the Premier League

Sergio Aguero’s association with Manchester City is well-documented, as the Argentine is the club’s all-time leading goal-scorer. His ten-year tenure in England was marked by numerous trophies and his goals played a crucial role in City’s success.

In the past two seasons, Pep Guardiola’s team has faced intense competition from Arsenal, with the title races going down to the wire. Mikel Arteta’s squad have strengthened further this season with the addition of Ricardo Calafiori and the expected arrival of Mikel Merino.

Regarding Arsenal’s potential to challenge City for the title again, Aguero believes the Gunners now have the squad depth to compete with Guardiola’s team and have a strong chance of pipping their rivals for the trophy. Aguero told Stake:

"Yes, I have no doubt [that Arsenal will be Man City’s main title rivals]. There’s more than one reason, though, they’ve been getting stronger by the season, during each trade window, by getting the types of players they need. Now, Arsenal have a very deep bench, so they’ll be able to have many options to play every competition."
"Arsenal and Manchester City will go in virtually everybody’s top four predictions and I think Liverpool will probably be in there as well despite there being some questions over how well Arne Slot will fit in. I had a thought about Newcastle but Aston Villa are solid and look to be still improving."

Aguero is a legendary figure at Manchester City but was forced to retire at 33 following his move to Barcelona due to a heart condition. He has since recovered and now has a substantial following on online streaming platforms.
