Chelsea striker Marc Guiu has opened up on the players he looks up to. The Blues' new summer signing named Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Luis Suarez, Romelu Lukaku, and Lautaro Martinez as his idols.

Guiu joined Chelsea this summer from Barcelona after the west London side triggered his £5 million release clause. He made news for the Catalan side last season, scoring just 23 seconds into his debut against Athletic Bilbao. In all, he made seven appearances for the senior side, scoring twice.

At his low price, the Spaniard could end up being a huge pickup for the Blues. He has looked impressive this pre-season for Enzo Maresca's side, starting all of their games and scoring once. However, with the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson among the side's attacking ranks, it remains to be seen if he gets regular playing time.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has said that the club are looking at the best possible outcome over the future of midfielder Conor Gallagher. Ahead of their clash against Manchester City on August 3, he said (via press conference):

"The only thing I can say is I know he is in contact with the club to find a solution. The club offered him a new contract. But this is, at the moment, the only news I received.
"Also because they know that when we are in competition or working, I like to be focused on what we have here. That is, in this moment, this game and then the Real Madrid game. For me as a manager, it is the most important thing. Just to focus on the most important thing that is the pitch."

According to Fabrizio Romano, the west London side already have an agreement in place with Atletico Madrid for the player. However, Los Rojiblancos are yet to convince the 24-year-old to make the move to Spain.

He was a key starter for Chelsea last season under Mauricio Pochettino, bagging seven goals and nine assists in 50 appearances across all competitions. He also took the captain's armband in the absence of regular leader Reece James.

However, new manager Enzo Maresca is keen on adapting to possession-based football, a style that may not fit Gallagher the best. However, they are set to welcome back new signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from injury. Moreover, with the return of Romeo Lavia from injury, and the presence of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, Gallagher might struggle to find game time.
