Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah reacted to captaining the development squad in a recent pre-season friendly against sixth-tier English outfit Boreham Wood. The two teams met at Meadow Park on Saturday (July 27), with the Blues' squad featuring the likes of Deivid Washington, Alfie Gilchrist, Bashir Humphreys, and Diego Moreira.

Chalobah was notably left out of Chelsea's squad for their pre-season tour of the USA. It is widely reported that they want him gone in the summer transfer window, with the player supposedly unhappy with how he is being treated.

Chalobah got some playing time in the development team this weekend as they played out a 3-3 draw. After the match, the central defender took to X to share a picture from the match and wrote a message:

"In Jesus name I play, grateful for the minutes."

Chelsea's senior squad, meanwhile, have been struggling in the States. After an underwhelming 2-2 draw against third-tier outfit Wrexham, they lost 4-1 to Brendan Rodgers' Celtic on Saturday.

The Blues have games against Club America, Manchester City, and Real Madrid in the USA before they host Inter Milan in a friendly at Stamford Bridge on August 11. It remains to be seen if Chalobah plays a part in the game, although that seems unlikely given reports linking him with a summer exit.

Chelsea place price-tag on Trevoh Chalobah - Reports

Fabrizio Romano has given his say on Trevoh Chalobah's future at Chelsea, claiming that the club have placed a £30-35 million price-tag on him. Manchester United, Newcastle United, and West Ham United are reportedly in the hunt to secure his services.

Romano told GiveMeSport:

"The price tag wanted by Chelsea is something between £30-35million for Trevoh Chalobah. There are proposals from the Premier League and from abroad. There is interest but, at the moment, still no formal proposal on the table at Chelsea. They’re also waiting to see what happens. My feeling is that it’s going to take some time before we know the new club of Chalobah."

Chalobah, 25, is a former England U21 international and still has four years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, having first joined the club in 2007. He has 80 senior appearances for the west London giants and played in 17 games across competitions last term after missing a chunk of it due to a thigh injury.
