Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic is set to join Ligue 1 side Strasbourg on a year-long loan. The Serbian shot-stopper is set to move to the Blues' sister club on a temporary basis.

Petrovic became the Blues' starting goalkeeper in the middle of the previous campaign after Robert Sanchez suffered an injury in November. He ended up making 31 appearances for the team across all competitions, keeping seven clean sheets while letting in 44 goals.

Coming into the 2024-25 campaign, it became clear that new manager Enzo Maresca was looking for a goalkeeper comfortable with the ball at his feet. Thus, Sanchez became the primary option to start games once again. They also signed Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal, pushing Petrovic further down the pecking order.

Petrovic will join Diego Moreira, Deivid Washington, and Caleb Wiley as Chelsea players to play for the Ligue 1 side.

The deal marks yet another move in what has been a frenetic transfer window for Enzo Maresca's men. With over 10 incomings, they had over 40 players in their first-team at one point, but a host of outgoings have followed as they look to trim down their squad.

The likes of Romelu Lukaku, Conor Gallagher, and Ian Maatsen have all found permanent exits while Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell could still leave the club before the transfer window draws to a close.

Arsenal are exploring the possibility of signing Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling. According to The Guardian, the Gunners are looking to sign the 29-year-old late in the window.

This comes as manager Mikel Arteta is keen on bolstering the side's attacking options. The player has also been linked with Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Juventus.

The winger was one of the Blues' first signings under new ownership, joining from Manchester City in the summer of 2022 for a reported fee of £47.5 million. Sterling's future at Chelsea looked bleak after new manager Enzo Maresca admitted that the attacker was not in his plans. The Italian tactician has opted to use Noni Madueke, Pedro Neto, and Mykhailo Mudryk on the wings to begin the campaign.

Since then, the London side have been looking to sell the player, but a move has proven difficult due to his high wages. It remains to be seen if Sterling will secure an exit from Stamford Bridge as the transfer deadline nears.
