Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer has overtaken Erling Haaland for the most Premier League goal contributions since last season. The England international was on the scoresheet as Enzo Maresca’s side strolled to a 3-0 win at West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday (September 21).

Nicolas Jackson delivered a Man of the Match performance. The Senegalese forward bagged two goals inside 18 minutes to put the Blues in front before assisting Palmer 68 seconds after the break.

The former Manchester City star ran behind Jackson to his left and fired home with aplomb. Palmer has continued his fine form from last season, registering two goals and four assists in five league games.

Since making his debut for Chelsea, Palmer has been involved in 39 goals (24 goals and 15 assists) in 38 Premier League outings, one ahead of City hitman Haaland in the same period.

The 2024 Premier League ‘Young Player of the Season’ has been one of the Blues' standout players since joining from Manchester City last summer. In 52 games across competitions, Palmer has 27 goals and 19 assists.

David Moyes aim dig at Julen Lopetegui after Chelsea loss

Former West Ham United manager David Moyes has criticised his successor Julen Lopetegui after the Hammers' home loss to Chelsea. The Blues produced a stellar performance, eding a run of three games without a win at the London Stadium.

Lopetegui failed to maintain Moyes' recent unbeaten streak against the Blues, leaving the latter disappointed, who said after the loss (via Mirror):

"I thought it was a poor performance, and they'll be disappointed, because we had a pretty good record against Chelsea at the London Stadium over the years," Moyes said.
"We've had difficulties at Stamford Bridge, but, at home, we've been pretty good against them, he added.

West Ham have suffered three defeats in five games this season, with all of them coming at home. The Hammers are 14th in the standings with four points from five games.
