Despite registering one victory in three league games under new head coach Enzo Maresca this season, Chelsea are currently the club with the highest shot accuracy in the Premier League.
Since Maresca's arrival, the Blues have won one and lost one of their three league matches in the 2024-25 campaign. They opened their season with a 2-0 home loss to Manchester City before recording a 6-2 away win at Wolverhampton Wanderers. Before the start of the international break, they were held to a 1-1 draw by Crystal Palace.
According to WhoScored.com, Chelsea boast the best shot accuracy of 48.6% in the Premier League this campaign. They have kept 18 of their 37 shots on target so far, hitting the woodwork once as well.
On the other hand, City have also recorded 18 shots on target out of 48 attempts. Arsenal have kept 17 of their 38 shots on target, while Liverpool have registered 16 shots on target out of 48 total shots so far. Tottenham Hotspur have a healthy 20 out of 48 shots on target, while Manchester United have kept just 12 of their 33 overall shots on target.
The Stamford Bridge outfit are currently 11th in the Premier League table with four points from three games. They will next be in action in their away league contest at Bournemouth on Saturday (September 14).
Former Aston Villa star Gabriel Agbonlahor lambasts Chelsea for disrespectful decision
Last week, Chelsea opted to omit Cole Palmer, Wesley Fofana, and Romeo Lavia from their UEFA Europa Conference League squad.
Speaking to talkSPORT, ex-Aston Villa attacker Gabriel Agbonlahor hit out at the Blues for their recent decision. He said (h/t Daily Mail):
"I think it's disrespectful to the competition because they wouldn't do that for the Europa League or the Champions League. They're looking at the Europa Conference League like, 'Eurgh, we're Chelsea and we shouldn't be in this... let's rest our players who might pick up knocks'."
Voicing his frustration about the Blues' lack of respect, he continued:
"Especially with Lavia and Fofana. They've had injury problems and they're probably thinking, 'Rest them in the Europa Conference League, we can play a weakened side and then concentrate on the Premier League with some of these players'. I think it's quite disrespectful to the competition to be honest."
Chelsea will open their maiden Conference League campaign with a home contest against Belgian side KAA Gent on Thursday (October 3).
