Former Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas recently picked Eden Hazard over Zlatan Ibrahimovic before suggesting that Wayne Rooney was better than both. In an interview with GOAL, the ex-Arsenal captain was asked to choose between two players.
He picked Hazard over Antoine Griezmann, Sergio Aguero, Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku, James Rodriguez, Radamel Falcao, Diego Forlan, Gonzalo Higuain, Fernando Torres, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Fabregas, though, picked Wayne Rooney over Eden Hazard.

Eden Hazard, during his Chelsea stint, was one of the best players in world football. He played 161 games alongside Fabregas and the duo combined in 13 goals.
Fabregas' appreciation for the Belgian isn't surprising. However, despite always being rivals with Rooney, Fabregas showed his admiration for the former Manchester United superstar.
Rooney played the most notable football of his career for the Red Devils. He scored 253 goals and provided 159 assists in 559 games for the Manchester giants and is their all-time record goalscorer.
Rooney also made 120 appearances for England, scoring 53 goals and providing 21 assists. He is the Three Lions' second-highest goalscorer in history behind Harry Kane.
Rooney, despite being a striker, played many games in a deeper position. He was an ultimate team player who sacrificed for the needs of the side.
Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic connected well as teammates
Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a short yet effective stint as teammates at Manchester United. They played 25 games together, combining in six goals.
Ibrahimovic joined Mourinho's United when he was almost 35. The Swede, however, showcased his class and was pivotal for the side. He scored 29 goals and provided 10 assists in 53 appearances for the club.
Ibrahimovic won the Europa League, the EFL Cup, and the Community Shield in English football. He hung up the boots at the end of the 2022-23 season after having a glorious career in which he played top European clubs across different leagues.
