Erik ten Hag on Manchester United's 7-0 EFL Cup win

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag shared his thoughts on his squad's performance in their third round EFL Cup clash. When asked about the 7-0 win, the Dutch manager said (via The UTD HQ):

"A perfect evening? You could say that, but not just for me, but also for the team. We did what we set out to do. We scored some good goals and entertained the fans. We worked on our style of play. We're happy."

When asked if this win was an example of his playing principles, the Red Devils boss explained:

“An example of my playing principles? It's an example, but I think we've already shown it in the past with very good performances. We want to grow as the season goes on. We're aiming for something big this season.”

Speaking about the competition between the attacking players in his squad, Ten Hag said:

"They're very ambitious. They're hungry, but you can also see that they give each other the ball. They want to give each other assists. They want to create chances."

Manchester United are currently 10th on the Premier League table with six points from four matches. They play against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in their next Premier League game on September 21.
