Fans were unimpressed with Jesus Vallejo's performance in Real Madrid's La Liga clash against Deportivo Alaves on Tuesday, September 24. The match ended in a 3-2 win for Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid took the lead in the very first minute of the match through Lucas Vazquez via an assist by Vinicius Junior. Kylian Mbappe doubled the score for the home side after being set up with a through ball by Jude Bellingham in the 40th minute. Rodrygo netted the third goal for Los Blancos with an assist by Vazquez just three minutes into the second half.

Jesus Vallejo came off the bench replacing Eder Militao for his first appearance of the season in the 80th minute while the crowd at the Santiago Bernabeu chanted his name. However, five minutes following the centre-back's introduction, Real Madrid conceded two goals (85', 86') in the span of a minute. The 27-year-old Spaniard managed only one clearance while losing possession twice during his uncomfortable stay on the pitch.

Fans flooded X to share their opinion on Vallejo's display in Real Madrid's seventh La Liga clash of the season. Here are some of them:

"Vallejo can not play even second division," one fan wrote.

Another added:

"Vallejo por favor, go to saudi brother."
"Never bring on Vallejo again," chimed in another.

One account posted:

"The whole stadium was chanting for Vallejo to come on yet Ancelotti decided to sub on 16 minutes of pain, suffering and misery."

Another opined:

"Vallejo is terrible. He should NEVER play in a Real Madrid jersey again. Jacobo Ramon should be above him in the pecking order."
"The fans should realise that Vallejo is liability. No more expect him to play again," posted another.

One user wrote:

"Vallejo don kill me dawg."

Another tweeted:

"Vallejo comes on and we CONCEDE 2 GOALS IN 5 MINUTES. Carlo Ancelotti needs to stop listening to the Bernabeu crowd."
"Vallejo is having a very horrible game, so sad. These kinda games kill careers," wrote another.

Vallejo, who joined Real Madrid from his boyhood club Zaragoza in 2015, has only made 32 appearances for the La Liga giants, helping keep 12 clean sheets.

Carlo Ancelotti on Real Madrid's La Liga clash against Alaves

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti shared his thoughts on Los Blanos' 3-2 win over Deportivo Alaves in La Liga. The home side had 69% of the ball while unleashing 10 shots, four of which were on target. They also received four yellow cards in the match.

In the post-match press conference, Ancelotti addressed the bookings, explaining how the players have to stop objecting to the referee's decisions and adjust to the new rules. The Italian said (via Managing Madrid):

"I repeat what I said the other day. The measure has changed and we have to get used to it. Nothing more. We are still not used to it. We’ve had four yellow cards for protesting. We have to avoid protesting, period. Fair or unfair, we have to adapt to the new rules."

When asked about his conversation with the referee, Ancelotti replied:

"I thought the yellow cards for protests were exaggerated. I told him that I have to do my part to prevent my players from doing that, no problem, we talked about it."

Speaking about his team conceding two late goals, the 65-year-old said:

"That's football. When you think the game is over, all it takes is a little slip-up for them to get the first goal. Then the confidence of the opponent goes up. We certainly don't want it to, but it can happen sometimes. It happened and it'll happen a lot of times in football. The team played very well for 60 minutes and we take confidence from that."

With Tuesday's victory, Real Madrid find themselves second on the La Liga table with 17 points, one point behind Barcelona who have a game in hand.
