Sergio Ramos's son made a hilarious claim that his father copied former Barcelona rival Neymar's popular technique while teaching them how to score penalties.

The defender shared on Instagram the video of him teaching his children how to score penalties. The clip features Ramos scoring from the penalty spot after taking short steps towards the ball, much like how the Joga Bonito star is usually seen doing.

After Ramos scored, his son says the technique was similar to the Brazilian's style, while the Sevilla star joked that it's his style too.

"Yeah but that's what Neymar does," Ramos' son said.
"No that's what dad does." the Spaniard joked. (Translation via Pubity Sport)

Sergio Ramos and Neymar faced each other multiple times between 2013 to 2017, when the Brazilian played for Barcelona while Ramos represented their arch-rivals, Real Madrid.

The two also played alongside each other at Paris St-Germain between 2021 to 2023, sharing the pitch 34 times with one joint goal contribution.

In a 2019 Q&A chat via Oh My Goal, Neymar Jr was asked who was the best player he had faced on the pitch. At the time, Ramos was playing for Real Madrid, but the former Barcelona star didn't hesitate naming the Spaniard.

"The best player I've faced? Sergio Ramos. Because he's an excellent central defender, and what's more, he scores goals. He's very difficult to play against," the Brazilian said.

Apart from Sergio Ramos, the Al-Hilal star was all praise for another Real Madrid player. In the same interview, Neymar praised his Brazil teammate Vinicius Jr, predicting that he would win the Ballon D'or someday.

"Vinicius Jr, he's super young and while he may have many years ahead of him, I think he will become an incredible player.
"He'll become one of the best, he'll compete for the Ballon d'Or. I hope he gets everything he wants. He's a great kid, very kind. I hope he will go very far because he deserves it." he said.

Meanwhile, Sergio Ramos has also been appreciative of his former Barcelona rival in the past.

After his transfer to PSG in 2021, Ramos revealed that Ramos and he shared a great friendship and talked before his transfer. The Spaniard indicated that Neymar played a key role in his PSG move.

"I have been talking to Neymar for six or seven years. Despite the fact he played for Barca and I played for Madrid, we have always had an extraordinary friendship," Ramos said. (via Daily Mail)
