Liverpool continued their fine form this season with a 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the Premier League at Anfield on Sunday, October 20. Despite the win, fans on social media have slammed Dominik Szoboszlai for his poor performance.

The Reds entered the clash as favorites and asserted their dominance when Mohammed Salah put them ahead from the penalty spot in the 29th minute. Chelsea leveled the scores in the 48th minute through Nicolas Jackson. However, Curtis Jones restored Liverpool's lead three minutes later after being set up by Salah, scoring what turned out to be the winner.

Szoboszlai played the full 90 minutes in the game for the Reds. The Hungarian midfielder had 49 touches, created zero chances, lost possession ten times, and attempted only one shot on target.

After the match, fans took to X to point out the midfielder’s poor performance against Chelsea. One fan wrote about the Liverpool star:

“How Szoboszlai manages to play 90 minutes almost every game is beyond me.”

Another fan added:

“Such a bad footballer. Would rather have Marko Grujic on the pitch.”

Another wrote:

“How much longer does Szoboszlai’s off ball work make up for whatever the hell he’s doing near that box?”
“Doesn't shoot, can't hold on to the ball for a second, can't pass, can't score, can't dribble plus he rarely win his duels,” another fan tweeted.
“A championship player could do what he does,” one fan chimed in.
“He’s been poor all game,” another Liverpool fan posted.
“Henderson was never this bad,” another fan wrote.

With this victory over Chelsea, Liverpool maintain their lead in the Premier League table. They have 21 points after eight games, one point ahead of second-placed Manchester City.

Mohammed Salah equals Premier League record in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Chelsea

Mohammed Salah gave a sublime performance in the Reds' 2-1 win over Chelsea on Sunday. After scoring the opener from the penalty spot, the Egyptian winger set up Curtis Jones for the Reds' second goal with a brilliant through ball.

Salah has now scored 162 Premier League goals, equalling Jermaine Defoe in the league’s all-time top scorers. He is now the league's joint ninth-highest scorer.

Overall, he has scored 217 goals and provided 94 assists in 359 games for the Merseyside club. This term, Salah has netted seven times and provided six assists in 11 games across competitions.
