Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal will undergo tests to ascertain if he has suffered an injury after facing discomfort while on international duty with Spain. The teenager started for the European champions in their UEFA Nations League clash with Denmark, which they won 1-0.

Yamal has been a key player for his country in 2024 and wore the #10 shirt for La Roja for the first time in his international career. The 17-year-old has featured in every game for Barcelona this season, underlining his importance to the club.

Spain manager Luis de la Fuente took Lamine Yamal off in the 89th minute of the game against Denmark, with Sergi Gomez replacing him. Spanish news outlet Esport3 (via BarcaCentre) claimed the Barcelona youngster was taken off due to discomfort in his left leg. The report states that the teenager will undergo tests to ensure he has not picked up an injury.

Yamal was spotted limping as he approached the mixed zone after the game and looked to have difficulty climbing stairs as he left the stadium. Spain's medical team will hope that the youngster has avoided a muscle injury, which will keep him out of the game against Serbia. Yamal is expected to return to his club's camp for rehabilitation if he has picked up an injury.

Lamine Yamal was busy for Spain as he took the #10 shirt in Dani Olmo's absence. He attempted five shots in the game, creating one chance while completing five of eight dribbles. He also made eight ball recoveries, putting in a shift at both ends of the pitch.

Barcelona defender closing in on return from injury

Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo is closing in on a return to action for the club after spending the last four months out injured. The Uruguay international is one of the club's captains and has proven to be a defensive stalwart over the years.

Araujo picked up his injury and underwent surgery in the summer following a muscle tear. The centre-back has not worked with Hansi Flick yet, and the duo of Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi have featured in the defense in his absence.

Barcelona expect Araujo to return to action in late November, with a return targeted for November 23rd against Celta Vigo. If not against the Spanish club in LaLiga, La Blaugrana are looking to have him back against Brest three days later, according to Mundo Deportivo (via Football Espana).
