Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has suggested Manchester United attacker's name as a potential transfer option – Reports

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick is reportedly considering a move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford in a bid to strengthen the left wing. The German manager identified Rashford as an alternative after failing to sign their priority target, Nico Williams.

According to Spanish journalist Albert Fernández, Hansi Flick has identified Marcus Rashford as an alternative to reinforce the attack on the left wing for Barcelona.

The German manager is poised to strengthen the attack on the left wing, and he wants a player who can score goals and also has dribbling abilities. Rashford is one of the players he considers suitable for this position. Meanwhile, it is unknown if there has been any movement regarding the development.

Before now, Marcus Rashford was on the list of Barcelona’s transfer targets, but the Catalan club didn’t make any significant moves at the time. The deal could, however, have a hurdle as his contract with Manchester United expires in 2028. Besides, the Spanish giants are reportedly keeping an eye on other players like Kingsley Coman, Federico Chiesa, and Rafael Leão.

Rashford is a product of the Manchester United youth system, and he made his debut for the senior team in 2016 against Midtjylland in the Europa League. In his 404 outings across competitions for the Red Devils, he has scored 131 goals and has provided 67 assists (via Transfermarkt).

Manchester United rule out a move for signing Barcelona midfielder – Reports

Manchester United have reportedly ruled out the move to sign Barcelona's top-rated midfielder, Frankie de Jong. The Dutchman has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for some time.

According to Sky Sports' Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are no longer considering signing Frenkie de Jong. He will definitely not join the Red Devils in this transfer window as there are no talks or negotiations about his possible move.

United boss Erik ten Hag has previously worked with Frankie de Jong at Ajax Amsterdam and has been associated with a possible union multiple times. Ten Hag seems keen to bring back players he had worked with at Ajax, as the club recently signed the Bayern Munich defensive duo of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.

The Dutch midfielder is currently injured and didn’t feature in Barca’s opening 2-1 La Liga win against Valencia.
