Barcelona are reportedly confident about registering three key players before their La Liga opener against Valencia on Saturday, August 17. According to SPORT, the Catalan club is in a strong position to register Dani Olmo, Inigo Martinez, and Pau Victor ahead of the game in Mestalla.

The report states that Barcelona have been mindful of La Liga's 1:1 rule during the summer transfer window and have financial breathing room to register these key players. La Liga's 1:1 rule is the regulation that helps the league keep track of the clubs' revenue and spending.

Dani Olmo is Barcelona's biggest signing so far this summer, brought from German club RB Leipzig for a reported €55 million (plus €5 million in add-ons). The Spanish attacking midfielder made his mark at Euro 2024 for La Roja, scoring three goals and providing two assists in six games.

For RB Leipzig, he scored eight goals and set up five more in 25 games last season and helped them qualify for the UEFA Champions League. Although his participation isn't confirmed in Barcelona's league opener, Hansi Flick will look to have all his options open given the club's numerous injury concerns at present.

Meanwhile, Inigo Martinez joined as a free agent last season and proved to be a useful player at the back for La Blaugrana in the 2023/24 season. The Spaniard was supposed to sign a two-year contract but was forced to sign a one-year deal amid financial constraints for the club.

Barcelona showed glimpses of brilliance under their new manager Hansi Flick when they defeated Pep Guardiola's Manchester City and Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid in pre-season friendlies. However, their Joan Gamper trophy game against Monaco was a disaster.

The Catalan club lost the trophy after 12 years by a scoreline of 3-0 against the Ligue 1 outfit. However, manager Hansi Flick was optimistic after the game and highlighted the team's performances in the United States against Manchester City and Los Blancos.

“I know how the team is capable of playing, we saw it in America, today (against Monaco) was not a good game against a good opponent, but in Valencia we will play differently and I am sure we will play another game," Hansi Fick said (as reported by Barca Universal).

Flick added:

"We can play better. We have five days to prepare for the match against Valencia, to improve the pressure and our game. I’m sure we’ll do better on Saturday."
