Arsenal are looking to move on from the struggling Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal have turned their attention towards Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush as they look to move on from Gabriel Jesus in January. The Egypt international is one of Europe's deadliest strikers and several top clubs are sniffing around him ahead of the January transfer window.

The Gunners signed Brazilian striker Jesus from Manchester City in the summer of 2022 but he has hardly made an impression in his time at the club. The 27-year-old has scored 19 goals and provided 15 assists in 77 games in his two years with the club. He has scored just four times in the Premier League since the start of last season.

Mikel Arteta has identified red-hot Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush as a target to replace Jesus in the January transfer window, as per CaughtOffside. The 25-year-old Egyptian leads the goalscoring charts in the German Bundesliga this season with eight goals and four assists in six games.

Marmoush has been prolific for Frankfurt over the last year, having scored 17 times (six assists) in 41 games for the side in the 2023-24 season. He may be available for around £25 million, making him a cost-effective option for many interested sides.

Manchester United, West Ham United, and Nottingham Forest in England have already signaled their intention to sign the striker, and Arsenal have joined the race. The Gunners will be prepared to let Gabriel Jesus leave the club and replace him with Marmoush in January.

Arsenal were linked with a number of strikers in the summer transfer window, including Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres, and Benjamin Sesko. The side have begun the season with Kai Havertz leading the line, but the club is still on the lookout for a new striker. With six goals and an assist in 10 outings to Havertz's name already this season, Jesus has found dislodging him from the starting XI difficult.

Arsenal turn down approach for out-of-sorts striker - Reports

Arsenal have turned down an offer from Brazilian champions Palmeiras to sign striker Gabriel Jesus in January, as per Globo Sport. The striker was looked at by his former club to re-join them in a bid to revive his stalling career.

Jesus left Palmeiras for Manchester City in January 2017 and has gone on to feature regularly in Europe since then. Recent seasons have not been so kind to him due to poor form and injury problems, leading the club to attempt to re-sign him.

Despite looking for a replacement for the Brazilian striker, Arsenal are unwilling to allow him to leave just yet. They may be more open to letting the 27-year-old go after signing a replacement for him.
