Liverpool fans have jubilantly reacted on X after they defeated rivals Manchester United 3-0 in their pre-season clash at the Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday, August 3. The Reds have won all three of their friendlies under Arne Slot this summer and will be raring to go for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Fabio Carvalho scored his second goal in as many games in the 10th minute, dancing around Casemiro, before dispatching an accurate shot into the bottom-right corner. Mohamed Salah delivered an accurate cross 26 minutes later into the path of Curtis Jones, who made no mistake from close range to make it 2-0.

Kostas Tsimikas bundled the ball over the line from close range in the 61st minute to seal an impressive 3-0 win for Arne Slot and Co. Despite being without the likes of Alisson Becker, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and other superstars, the Reds have taken care of business, even defeating Arsenal 2-1 earlier this week.

One Liverpool fan reacted by posting:

"Starting the bald-offs with a win, arne's reds are here baby."

Another fan typed:

"What a performance."

Other reactions can be seen below:

"I know it's just a friendly game but I'm delighted," one fan posted.
"We ain't going anywhere," another fan added.
"At least Manchester United will NEVER WALK ALONE. They will walk with 3 goals," one fan took a dig at the Red Devils.
"We all know it’s preseason but Arne Slot will turn out to be the perfect Klopp replacement," one fan predicted.
"I am just happy that for once in a long long time we can pass in between the lines rather than going backwards or wide. Arne Slot will have lots of our midfielders shining and there is far less hustle in our game so hopefully less injuries," another typed.

"The score could have been different tonight as well" - Arne Slot gives honest verdict on Liverpool's performance after defeating Manchester United

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has admitted he was pleased by some aspects of his side's performance as they defeated Manchester United 3-0 on Saturday. However, he highlighted the Reds' lack of control over the game, claiming the scoreline could have easily gone in United's favor.

While the Reds were much more clinical during the friendly and had more possession with 53 percent of the ball, the Red Devils had more chances in attack. The latter mustered 18 shots in total with eight being on target, whereas Liverpool had nine shots in total with five being on target.

Slot wasn't pleased by his side's lack of control which led to this. He pointed it out during the post-match press conference, saying (via Liverpool's official website):

"Yes, I was – but not with all of them. We are very happy with the result, we scored some really nice goals. But I don't think we had enough control over the game because United were threatening us more than a few times. It's a 3-0 win but the score could have been different tonight as well."

The Reds next face Sevilla in a friendly on Sunday, August 11.
