Antony's agent Junior Pedroso has dismissed rumors that the Brazilian winger will be leaving Manchester United this summer. Pedroso has told journalist Fabrizio Romano that the winger is planning to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his position.

Reports over the weekend suggested that Antony was on the transfer list at Manchester United. The agent has now shut all rumors and said:

"I see reports about potential exit on loan. Antony's plan is clear: Manchester United. He wants to stay, he's only focused on Man United. We already spoke about that with the club."

United manager Erik ten Hag has also backed the player to do well this season. He claimed that the Brazilian winger started well at the club, but things became difficult later. He told AD (via GOAL):

"I am still convinced that Antony has the potential to play at this club. He certainly showed that potential in the first month. He scored three times in his first three games. After that it became more difficult, last season was not good."

Manchester United signed Antony for a reported €100 million from Ajax in the summer of 2022. However, he struggled last season and finished with just one goal and one assist in the Premier League.

Antony was told to leave Manchester United by Rivaldo

Brazilian legend Rivaldo spoke about Antony earlier this year and stated that a move to Germany, Spain or Italy was ideal for him. He believes that the winger is still a good player, but it is not ideal for him to stay at Old Trafford. He said:

"I still say Man United winger Antony is a great player. He's already played in a World Cup for Brazil and he's still young with plenty of football to play. He's currently at a club that's been going through difficult times for a while now, so in my opinion leaving England could be good for him."

Rivaldo added:

"Moving to a side in Spain, Germany or Italy could be fundamental for his progression now. With his skills and the football that he can play, I think that he would fit very well into any big team in Spain, for example. It could be good for him to go to a club where he can return to playing regularly and aim to get back into the Brazilian team. Who knows, maybe in 2026 he can play in another World Cup."

No club has shown interest in Antony so far, despite reports suggesting that Manchester United are open to a loan or sale this summer.
