Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal teammate Vitinha had a fine game for A Selecao in their 0-0 draw with Scotland in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday, October 15. Fans on social media failed the PSG midfielder's performance despite a frustrating result for his team.

Vitinha created two chances in the match, completed two dribbles, played five accurate long balls, and won all three of the duels he contested. He also made eight recoveries and played 15 passes into the final third.

After the final whistle, fans waxed lyrical about his performance on X, with one fan saying:

"Vitinha is always a joy to watch."

Another post read:

"been saying this for months, any team who has Vitinha as one of its midfielders need not worry about the conductor and creator of the team. He gets overlooked a lot, literally one of the best midfielders itw. A proper baller, would be a perfect replacement for Kroos."
"Yo this Vitinha guy is the TRUTH," another fan added.
"Every time Vitinha plays he is our best player but he always gets subbed off. Why?" a fan wrote.
"I know it won’t matter but Vitinha should be winning the MOTM tonight! Too good," a fan added.
"Vitinha and Nuno Mendes deserve so much better than that. So poor from the rest of them," a fan said.
"Vitinha is an absolute gem of a footballer"

Despite failing to secure a win in their final UEFA Nations League clash of the international break, Portugal remain atop the standings with three wins and one draw. Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. will face Poland in their next game in the tournament on November 15.

Cristiano Ronaldo fails to find the back of the net as Portugal held to 0-0 draw

Cristiano Ronaldo failed to find the back of the net for the first time in this edition of the UEFA Nations League in Portugal's 0-0 draw against Scotland at Hampden Park. Both teams bagged their first draw in the tournament, with the Euro 2016 winners ending their three-match winning streak, while the Tartan Army bagged their first point.

The hosts had the first proper chance in the game after five minutes, but former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay's header was saved by Diogo Costa. Portugal regained control of the half but failed to convert any of their chances. Cristiano Ronaldo had a frustrating outing as he tested the keeper only once.

The second half continued in the same vein as Portugal had the better opportunities, but couldn't make them count. Scotland held on to secure the point at the final whistle and now sit six points behind second-placed Croatia with six points left to play for in the group.
